The Piermont Inn, a country inn

Welcome to the Piermont Inn web site. We hope this site will enable the user to gain some insight into this historic property and a preview of what to expect when staying at the inn. In order to begin this process, a brief description of the inn and it’s surroundings follows.

The inn is located on a side street in the small village area of the town of Piermont in the upper Connecticut river valley. There are six guest rooms, all with private bathrooms. In addition there are a living room, parlor, and dining room open to use by guests. In good weather, a terrace and lawn area with seating and tables offer more space to enjoy.

We are open for the season from mid May through late August, by chance in early September, and open again from late September through the mid October for the foliage season. We are closed in the winter.

Please explore this sight for more detailed information and of course phone us if you have questions we can help answer.

A short history of the inn...

The Piermont Inn was originally established by Dr. Ross Coon in 1790 as a tavern and stagecoach stop on the old turnpike to Concord, NH. Since the town of Piermont was settled in 1768, this was the first tavern in the village area. Built in a style common to the times, it consisted of a tavern and sitting rooms downstairs, with a large Ballroom overhead. A stable for the stagecoach and traveler’s horses was available beside the main building. Read more...
